Aren’t unexpected surprises brilliant? Like winning your quid back on a scratch card, or people acknowledging you opening the door for them…one for the London readers there…
The Big Pink are apparently two lifelong friends who have been pottering away in the home studios for years culminating inthis single which reeks of hedonistic pycheadelic vibes. Based on an early Underworld style breakbeat, ‘Too Young to love’ is a relentless monotone groove with My Bloody Valentine or early Boo Radleys fuckked up guitar hystrionics.
Fans of Kasabian could do well to check this out to finally highlight exactly what they’re doing wrong when they stupidly release a new track. Top stuff.

Being an integral member of classic early 90s dance act 808 state gives you instant legendary status. His latest project be Sisters of Transition . The influence? Electro pop with Morroccon flavoured percussion as played by Human League duetingwith Giorgio Moroder after listening to Simian Mobile Disco.
Manchesstahh is back in the area, then!

Sonic the hedgehog style bleeps, vocodered vocals, cheesy trance style riffs, a bad guitar solo
and an Ian Duryesque lead vocal…is this a joke or the first post Crystal Castles band therefore also a joke?
This is three and a half minutes of your life you will resent not getting back forever.

Imagine the worst club you’ve ever been in with the most undesirably rancid of people you’d play with traffic crossing the road to avoid; this would be the soundtrack.

The worst thing about Jack Johnson is the do gooding peace and love vibes of his music, no doubt brought on by lethargy due to smoking too much spliff and inhaling too much salty air while being a bum knocking around beaches and recording dull albums by solar power, the second worst thing are his fans.

Berlin based four piece piece fronted by Kings of Convenience singer, Erland Oye have here a sleepy low slung stoner pop tune which although very charming, is also quite non-descript. Flip straight over the original for the bside remix which is the winner here. Mixed by Frank Falke, he has transformed the tune into a guaranteed Ibiza Summer stormer. Reminiscent of ‘Discovery’ era Daft Punk but dripped in even more Georgio Moroder style synths, this mix is guarantedd to put a smile on your face and a spring your step.

The funny thing about this band right, is that, they’re not all black….and none of them are kids, hahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
Anyway, the buzz band for 2008 have hit a winner on this, their official debut single. Produced by Bernard Butler who after the success with Duffy, seems to be hot property production-wise, ‘Dance with you’ is endlessly uplifting pop about the singers ex girlfriends new boyfriends inability to dance as well as him; “He’s got two left feet and he bites my moves”, followed by a shout of ‘I’m not gonna teach him how to DANCE! DANCE! DANCE!”, the latter being a total steal of any Go! Team track you’ve ever heard.
