The Organ: Memorize The City (Noize)
October 31st, 2005
Every now and again a band as good as this emerges and for the select few privileged enough to appreciate it, they hold a special place in their record collection from then on, transcending the ipod shuffle mentality.
Memorize The City, is The Organs first chart eligible single, (not that it will make a huge impression). This all female Toronto five piece who combine the captivating stage presence of Joy Division, lyrical beauty of Morrissey and suave icy guitar riffs of Interpol have produced a pop classic. Katie Sketches aching vocals sing the words ‘Although our lips barely touched I have never felt so much”, with a detached Mozzer swagger set against jangely guitars that are both catchy and gripping. It’s 3 minutes of pure Magic.
